Sacramento River Corridor Hazardous Fuels Reduction Project

  • Glenn County, CA

  • 690 acres

  • Mastication and Targeted Herbicide Application

The Sacramento River Corridor Hazardous Fuels Reduction Project began as a 340-acre mastication effort in Eastern Glenn County to reduce wildfire risk on federally managed lands. Located within the Sacramento National Wildlife Refuge Complex, the project aimed to establish strategic fuel breaks along roads, trails, and property boundaries to protect public access, first responder safety, and critical infrastructure.

Community Defensible Space – Lake Almanor

  • Lake Almanor, CA

  • Mastication

The goal of the community defensible space project around Lake Almanor was the removal of vegetation to reduce wildfire risk and enhance public safety. Our team focused on strategic fuel reduction—clearing hazardous vegetation to protect homes, improve emergency access, and support long-term forest health. These efforts play a key role in building a more fire-resilient and sustainable landscape for the community.

Westwood Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI)

  • Westwood, CA

  • 1,262 acres

  • Mastication

Our team worked on the Westwood WUI project—a 1,262-acre fuel reduction initiative focused on protecting the town of Westwood from the threat of catastrophic wildfire. This project was strategically designed to create defensible space around the community by thinning dense vegetation and reducing hazardous fuels that contribute to intense fire behavior.

WUI projects like this are essential for communities situated near wildland areas. They not only help safeguard lives and property but also improve emergency access and evacuation routes, enhance the effectiveness of firefighting efforts, and promote long-term forest health and ecosystem resilience. By reducing fire intensity and spread, WUI work plays a critical role in building safer, more fire-adapted communities.

Residential Fuel Reduction – Bailey Creek

  • Lake Almanor, CA

  • Mastication

When a concerned homeowner—who had just endured the devastation of the Dixie Fire—reached out about the overgrown property next door, we knew action couldn’t wait. Our team stepped in to clear the dense vegetation, remove hazardous fuels, and restore defensible space around the home.

The result? A safer, more fire-resilient property—and peace of mind for the neighborhood.

At Diversified Resources, Inc., we are proud to help residents reduce wildfire risk, improve safety, and protect their homes and communities—one property at a time.
