Our primary service is vegetation management or fuels reduction, which is the process of removing woody material from the forest with the goal of improving forest health and reducing wildfire risk. Examples of effective techniques include: thinning and pruning trees, removing brush, and masticating(mowing) brush and trees. Effective fuel reduction activities are aimed at providing defensible space and improving forest health.
Kelly is a 3rd generation forester with a profound working knowledge of healthy forest management.
Being a good steward of the land, Kelly learned from his grandfather and father the importance of producing high quality work with a mindset that quality of work is more important than production. Kelly’s ultimate goal is to provide proper forest care so that the forests remain healthy and vigorous for years to come. His grandfather was involved in the forest industry for more than 60 years and Kelly and his family carry on the tradition today.
Kelly spent most of his free time working and learning the trade. He started out piling brush for his grandfather and over the course of the past 25 years, he has worked every forestry position ranging from a landing man to forestry superintendent.
A lot has changed over the past 60 years. The timber industry is more mechanical, efficient and is more safe than ever before.
Kelly saw opportunity in the diversification of the forest industry. He spent more than 20 years working in the family business and wanted to explore other opportunities. He wanted a different challenge, something new, but yet in the forest industry.
