Forest Health Improvement:

A variety of techniques are used for forest health improvement. Vegetation management and fuels management activities focus on reducing hazardous fuels around homes and property, increases public and firefighter safety, and reduces the risk of unwanted wildfire to communities.

Our services focus on treating understory trees and brush with a goal of reducing fire hazards, improving tree growth, stabilizing carbon in retained trees, and increasing forest resilience.

Defensible Space:

Our forests are vulnerable to catastrophic fire and disease. Threat of wildfire harming or destroying communities is growing as the population increases in the more rural, mountainous areas.

Forests are more dense than in years past, less adapted to fire and choked with brush. Homes and communities built near these forests are at risk. Properly managed areas help in reducing the potential for catastrophic wildfire.

As we have seen in recent years, homes and in some cases entire communities have been destroyed by wildfire. Creating defensible space is one of the many ways homeowners and property owners can help reduce their risk. Homes built at the edge of these dense forests are at risk. Fuel reduction helps reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfire, and increases the survivability of homes and property.
